Our Collection
At Appre, we collect rare Japanese Whisky, Sake and Shochu from breweries around Japan. Below is a list of several whisky, sake and shochu that is currently in our collection. Our collection is not limited to those listed below. In fact, we refresh our supply on a regular basis and we are very happy to take in requests. Please come visit us to take a look at our full collection of whisky, sake and shochu and also for a drink - perhaps before your favourite whisky runs out!
Whisky
HIBIKI
Hibiki is world renowed Japanese blended whisky from Suntory which has won several awards from around the world. It is incredibly popular with our customers. We currently have in our collection Hibiki Harmony which is a melt of malts and grain whiskies that has then been ages in different casks.
In addition we also have Hibiki 12, Hibiki 17 and Hibiki 21. These have all been aged in umeshu (Japanese apricot liquer) for their respective ages.
TOGOUCHI
Tougouchi is another Japanese whisky from a city near Hiroshimo known as Chugoku Jozo. They are best known for their shochu known as Dharma and Sonshan. However, they do not distille the whisky instead import already distilled whisky from Scotland (malt) and Canada (grain). They then blend the whisky in these barrels creating a precise and unique delicious taste. In our collection, we currently have the Tougouchi Premium Blend and the Tougouchi Aged 8 years.
ICHIRO MALT
Ichiro's Malt is a world renowned whisky incredibly rare to get hold of. They have been created by Ichiro Akuto and is popular with whisky lovers worldwide. In our collection we have and not limited to Ichiro's Malt, Double Distillery and Mizunara Wood Reserve.
YAMAZAKI
Yamazaki Whisky is one of the most famous Japanese whisky, infact it was Japan's first malt whisky distillery. The distillery is located just outside of Kyoto meaning it has a good water supply, humidity and climate making it an optimum condition for the production of whisky. Yamazaki Whisky is much loved around the world and in fact if you book in advance you will be able to have a "guided tour" around the Yamazaki distillery for free. We have a huge range of Yamazaki Whisky in our collection (most not pictured) which include but not limited to Yamazaki Single Malt Whisky, Yamazaki Aged 12, Yamazaki Aged 17. In fact, our owner was in one of the CMs for Yamazaki Whisky for Suntory.
IWAI
Known for its rich and silky smooth texture, Iwai is another collection of whisky which has garnered much attention. It was produced in the Mars Shinshu Distillery and named after Kichiro Iwai who was referred to by Bloomberg as "the silent pioneer of Japan whisky." The distillery is located in the north and south Japanese alps at about 800 meters in altitude. In our collection we have Iwai Tradition known for its ripe cherry and honey toffee with a beautiful ginger spice taste and a different Iwai Tradition with a Wine Cask Finish.
LAGAVULIN
Lagavulin is one of the finest whiskies in the world from the Lagavulin distillery in Scotland. It is known for many of its international allocades and its smoky scent and smooth texture.
